Glaze and enamel
Aluminium-oxid and zirconium-oxide based
fused cast refractories have excellent thermal and corrosion
resistance properties therefore their use has become indispensable
in modern glaze and enamel melting furnaces.
AZS type blocks comply with the extreme
strain of the glaze and enamel melting furnces the best.
We have been supplying them for our customers since 1965.
The melt of the baddeleyite-corundum-based ZIRKOSIT products
is made by an oxidising process. The high alpha-corundum
and baddeleyite content ensures the refractoriness, whereas
the silica and the low alkali content - forming a glassy
phase - improves the thermal shock resistance. There are
three different types of AZS fused cast refracotries sold
under the trade name ZIRKOSIT.
ZIRKOSIT-S normal
cast blocks are used in side walls and superstructures,
while ZIRKOSIT-S void free blocks
are recommended for the bottom pavings. ZIRKOSIT-Y
void free blocks has been frequently used in the most
exposed parts of glaze and enamel furnaces (such as runner
blocks and runner cover bocks) with excellent results.
ZIRKOSIT-M is a medium zirconium-oxide
content fused cast refractory material, which has been available
since 1999.
ZIRKOSIT-M blocks can provide improved
service over ZIRKOSIT-S but are less expensive than ZIRKOSIT-Y.
We recommend the application of ZIRKOSIT-M blocks for those
parts of the furnaces where better performance is required
than is achievable by using the lower zirconium-oxide content
AZS type fused cast refractory material; but where the usage
of the higher zirconium-oxide material is not justified
technically or commercially.
The machining of blocks is carried out
by machines equipped with diamond tools. So, we can ensure
the accuracy of dimensions, smooth surface and proper fitting
of blocks.
After final machining of the blocks our
experts assemble the furnace units and the pre-assembly
can be inspected by the technicians of the users. Photografs
are taken of the assemblies and supplied with the assembly
drawing to the customers.
